How To Change The Default Look Of Removable Drives

The default look of Removable drive is boring, and it would be confusing if you have multiple drives connected to your PC.

Here is how to customize the pen drives display picture to your favourite icon.

1. Select your favourite icon to show as display image of removable drive. It must have .ico extension. You can search for icons in Google or you can find free icons at www.freeiconsdownload.com

2. Open Notepad. Type in following lines (you can change ‘My Drive’ with any name). Save this file as autorun.inf.

3. Copy both autorun.inf and Icon.ico files to your removable drive (you can hide those files).
Now unplug the drive and connect it back to see the difference.

This customization also applies to Memory cards and cameras.
